On 27-28 July 2012, Dr. Vallop Suwandee, Deputy Governor of Bangkok attending the 10th Asian-Pacific City Summit (APCS) Conference held in Pohang City, Republic of Korea. In this connection, Dr.Vallop Suwandee delivered speech in the special session of conference on “Flood protection System of Bangkok” which concern in relevant factors of flood situation in 2011, the designed system of flood protection, and future measures to fight flooding. His presentation was interested and discussed by many Mayors related to BMA future flood factors and protection systems.
The meeting agreed upon the Pohang Declaration which has main ideas that those membership cities of APCS concern in decreasing carbon into the atmosphere. They also agreed on pursuing the low carbon green growth-oriented city development and become core cities in the Asian-Pacific area. Moreover, the exchange will be done on environmental areas, economic, culture, and tourism areas.
