M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra, Governor of Bangkok, accompanied by executives of BMA consisting of Assistant Secretaries to the Governor of Bangkok: Mrs.Bensai Keeyapa, Mr.Sanya Chantarat; and Advisors to the Governor of Bangkok: Mr.Supachai Tantikom, and Mr. Wasan Meewong, visited Beijing, the People’s Republic of China during 26 to 28 June 2010 to strengthen the Sister City relationship continuity between Bangkok and Beijing, the People’s Republic of China for the 19th year towards the 20th year in 2013; attend the opening ceremony of the 2012 Beijing Forum on Sustainable Development of Cities; open City Exhibition; and visit BMA’ s exhibition booth at National Convention Center, Beijing where BMA had provided cultural performances and tourist attractions display to attract tourists and promote potentials in tourism, arts and culture, and medication aspects in accordance with the clearly-defined purpose of the agreement under the same action guideline.
On this occasion, Governor of Bangkok participated in a discussion on the culture and city development strategy: “Re-examining the Issue of Sustainability in City Development from a Cultural Prospective”, and shared experience and accomplishment of city excellence development, giving new perspective of Bangkok as an angel city along with maintaining the original highlights of cultures and historical areas.
