Busan is located on the south of the Korean peninsula at 35.1796° N and 129.0756° E. The city has a size of 77.04 square kilometer and an approximate population of 3,466,000 (2019, UN). Busan is surrounded by mountains, scenic cliffs, rivers, coastline, beaches and ocean. It has the largest container handling port in the country and the world's fifth largest. Busan is becoming one of the hottest destinations for traveling as well as international conventions for the city's rich nature, history and culture.

- Spring: The season begins in early March and ends in late June. The average temperature in is 14.9°C. It is quite windy and the weather is dry with some periods of yellow dust and late frosts during the spring months in Busan. The flowers begin to bloom in this season such as apricot, peach, dandelion, canola, etc.

- Summer: This season starts at the end of June and lasts until the beginning of September. The average temperature is 24 °C and the highest temperature is 30 °C. It is sub-tropical climate with hot and humid weather in this season. It mostly rains during late June to early August in Busan's summer. The wettest month is July (112.0 mm avg).

On 11th July, 2011, MR. Sukhumbhand Paribatra, Governor of Bangkok and Mr. Hur, Num-sik,
Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, the Republic of Korea signed Agreement on the Establishment of a Friendship City Relationship between the Busan Metropolitan City and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
